Super Sprint Triathlon 400m Swim, 3km Run 

 Sprint Aquathlon 750m Swim, 5km Run 

400m + 1500m Swims


Further to the successful events over the last 3 years we are organising 4 events again for 2015.

At each event there will be Aquathlons as well as Open Water Swims of 400m and 1500m with options to do multiple events. This is all set in Colwick Country Park which is a large and diverse area of woodland, water and meadows providing a perfect backdrop for such an event. Based around the spring fed 24 acre West Lake were the water is clear and is approved by  DEFRA  for public swimming.

Depending on entries events may be a wave start format.

Prizes in each event and also  the fastest combined 3 event time (men and womans), for those competing on all 3 event dates, special prizes will be awarded.

  • Off road so no traffic to wory about for the run

Aquathlon  4pm

This is a great event for new comers to open water events or for more experienced athletes looking for a fast fun event.Choice of Super sprint 400m/3km  £11  or  Sprint 750m/5km events  £13

400/750m lake swim consists of one lap and will be a wet suit compulsary event, then a 3km/5km run around the park paths. Some of the paths go through areas of woodland and trees and therefore will accumulate mud and leaves, and leave puddles after rain, care must be taken and treated as a cross country run.

Why not do one or both swims prior to the Aquathlon and give yourself a real challenge, any combination of 2 off £17  or 3 events £21

Open Water Swimming Events

400m Swim at 2.30pm open to age 13 plus. A great way to try your first open water swim event or to get a warm up swim in before your main event!   £6

1500m Swim at 3.00pm open to age 15 plus.  A good distance to be challenging for beginners and competitive experienced athletes alike  £9

Registration and Briefing Information

Registration Times: From 1.30pm. Registration is at the Outdoor Adventure Centre next to west lake Map of the Park 

Briefing Times: Ten minutes prior to race start.

Competitors must attend the race briefing on the day. Information on the course and rules relative to competitor safety will be outlined, as well as important safety information. Please also take the time to read the BTF Rules. 

Race numbers will be collected from the registration desk on race day. Details of allocated bib numbers will be available online prior to the event and will also be displayed in the registration area at the venue and written on your hand with parminant marker for the event.

Aquathletes please attach your bib numbers to the front of your Run so that it can be clearly seen. Bib numbers cannot be folded.Competitors may not race with somebody else’s number. Race belts are a the best way of wearing the race numbe.
